What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis
Experts in the field agree that ABA is the most effective treatment for people with Autism spectrum disorder and most other similar neurodivergent diagnosis. It improves people's quality of life by modifying socially significant behaviors using the concepts of learning theory. ABA uses a range of methods, such as data gathering, reinforcement tactics, and behavior modification, to promote socially appropriate behavioral changes as it applies to the individual and decrease maladaptive behaviors ( such as tantrums, self harm etc.)
What do sessions consist of?
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst creates programs for each child that will help them better access their immediate surroundings in the most efficient manner possible. These programs are based on therapeutic therapies that emphasize positive reinforcement techniques. It is well established that ABA can assist to decrease maladaptive behaviors (such as tantrums, self harm etc.) and teach useful replacement behaviors that will give the kid better ways to get what they need right away. You will be paired with a group of certified Registered behavior technicians and Board Certified Behavior Analyst to work one-on-one with your child. Additionally, parents and caregivers will receive training on how to ethically implement behavioral strategies.
Where are services held and how long are sessions?
In home ABA services are held in the home setting along in various community locations upon client need. The different schedules of staff and families are taken into account when designing ABA sessions. Each session's length may vary according on availability and particular requirements. Sessions can often take anywhere from thirty minutes to several hours, giving the person receiving services flexibility in achieving their goals. This method takes into account each family's particular situation while providing the best possible support. In order to schedule sessions and make sure they are productive and helpful, family members and therapists must communicate effectively.
